It took many years but Joey Neimon became an Eagle Scout on October 13, 2013.  The story does not end there, Joe’s continued commitment to Boy Scouts and his community has earned him the Eagle Scout of the Year Award from Delafield’s American Legion.  Troop 49, chartered by American Legion Post 196 of Delafield, Wisconsin proudly proclaims it has guided 65 young men over the years to the rank of Eagle Scout, Joey is number 57.  This lifetime goal is recognized by the American Legion and it awards members who have met the following Eligibility Requirements. The nominee must: • Be a registered, active member of a Boy Scout Troop, chartered to an American Legion post, AND • Received the Eagle Scout Award. • Be an active member of his religious institution (Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Wales, Wisconsin) and must have received the appropriate Boy Scout religious emblem. • Have demonstrated practical citizenship in church, school, Scouting, and community. • Have reached his 15th birthday and be enrolled in high school at the time of selection. • Reside in the department (Wisconsin) to which he applies.

Joe Neimon has superseded the entire above requirements.  He continues to serve as Joe volunteer and plays his bugle at funerals for American veterans.  He has worked on many community projects including the Lapham Peak project, the Alonzo Cushing Medal of Honor event, of the Delafield Annual Coon feed.  All these after he received his Eagle Badge.  Joseph Neimon's name has been in several local newspapers about his ventures in our community.
